Top Lessons from Final Table Poker

We recently relaunched Final Table Poker and learned some valuable lessons.

The design is awesome and the site looks great. Still, we learned a couple valuable lessons.

  1. Stay on top of the project management. We had a ton of stuff going on at the time we were building it and the hours got a little out of hand. If we had been on top of it and run it by the client, things would have turned out better.
  2. Mock up every single page and element before moving it into production. Rather than going through and tweaking after the pages have been produced, each element on every page should be completely specified by the design team. This is an ongoing lesson I keep learning: when I work on something, I’m able to compress the different stages of a project into a single part. I can architect, design and program all at once. With a larger firm, not only is this not wise, but it’s not possible.
