Usability is a subset of user experience.

Jodi mentioned to me earlier today that although our marketing material is focused on usability, our real focus was not so narrow–or so expert. We have a wide range of skills in the office, and I’m the only one that’s ever focused on usability per se, and even I haven’t done that much in terms of advanced research.

Create highly targeted apps

The pharmaceutical industry (led by Novartis) has started developing highly specific drugs for rare diseases. They can afford it because testing is easier and they can get them to market faster. Then, they can start looking at larger applications. We should apply this to our own app development.
